Price guide

What does a website cost in 2026?

The honest answer is "it depends" — which is useless when you have to set a budget. This guide covers what actually drives the price of a website, what the Swedish market charges across the three common models, and what we charge ourselves. Real numbers, in SEK.

Updated 2026-08-09

Short answer

  • A simple few-page website: roughly 5,000–15,000 kr as a one-off.
  • A full business website built by an agency: usually 20,000–60,000 kr, more if it integrates with other systems.
  • Subscription websites: around 1,000 kr per month — low barrier, but you do not own the site.
  • An online store: from about 15,000 kr, rising with products, payment methods and integrations.

With us, a landing page starts at 6,990 kr, a business website at 12,990 kr and an online store at 14,990 kr — each with its delivery window published alongside the price.

What you are actually paying for

Two quotes for the same "website" can differ by 40,000 kr without either being dishonest. The gap almost always comes down to six things. Know where your project lands on each and you can compare quotes instead of guessing.

1

Scope

A landing page is one page with one job. A business website is five to twelve pages doing different jobs: explaining the offer, building trust, capturing contact. Every additional page type is design, content structure and testing — which is why price moves in steps rather than linearly.

2

Design

An off-the-shelf template is cheapest and fastest, and looks like everyone else who bought it. Custom design costs more because somebody actually designs around what you sell and who buys it. In between sit customised templates, usually the sensible compromise for a smaller company.

3

Functionality

A contact form is simple. Booking, logins, quote calculators, customer portals or connections to CRM, calendar and payments are development, not content. Functionality is the most common reason a quote doubles — and the most common thing missing from a cheap one.

4

CMS and editability

If you want to change text and images yourself, a content system has to be configured and handed over with training. It costs inside the project and saves money every time you would otherwise have had to order a text change.

5

E-commerce

A store is a website plus product data, checkout, payment methods, shipping rules and returns. Product count drives the work more than most people expect, and integrating stock or ERP systems is a project inside the project.

6

Technical quality

Load time, mobile behaviour, accessibility, page structure, tracking and technical SEO never show up in a design mock-up, but they decide whether the site is found in Google and whether visitors stay. It is the line most often absent from the lowest bid, and the most expensive one to add later.

What the Swedish market charges

There are effectively three ways to buy a website in Sweden today. They solve the same need with very different total costs — and very different consequences the day you want to change supplier.

ModelPrice levelOwnershipBest forWatch out for
Agency, custom build20,000–60,000+ kr, one-offYou normally own the siteCompanies whose website has to sell or qualify leadsUncapped hourly billing, and a quote that never says what is NOT included
Template or budget build5,000–10,000 kr, one-offYou usually own the siteNew companies that mainly need to exist and be foundBeing hard to build on later, and conversion and technical SEO rarely being included
SubscriptionAround 1,000 kr/month, little or no setup feeThe supplier owns the siteBusinesses that value cash flow over ownershipTotal cost over time — and having no website the day you cancel

These ranges are what we see comparing published price lists and quotes on the Swedish market — an observation, not a survey. Location, agency size and how much content you supply yourself all move the number.

Compare the total, not the monthly fee

A subscription at 1,000 kr a month looks cheap next to a 25,000 kr one-off. Over three years it has cost 36,000 kr, and the website still belongs to someone else. Cancel it and you are back to no site at all.

That does not make monthly billing wrong — cash flow is often the real constraint for a smaller company. The difference is what you own once it is paid. Our web packages can be split into a setup fee and a monthly fee on a twelve-month term, and after month twelve the website is fully yours.

So compare three numbers before deciding: the first-year cost, the three-year cost, and what you are left holding if the relationship ends.

Costs that appear after launch

Building is a one-off cost. Having a website is a running one. These are the lines that surprise buyers who only compared build prices.

Domain and hosting

Recurring fees paid directly to the registrar and host. They are not normally part of a build price — they are not part of ours either, and we add no markup because they never pass through us.

Content

Copy and images are the line that delays projects most and gets budgeted least. Either you write and shoot it yourself or you buy it, but it is never free.

Maintenance and security

Updates, security patches, backups and monitoring have to be somebody's job. Doing it yourself costs time; outsourcing it to us costs 4,990 kr per month.

Licences

Themes, plugins, booking tools and email platforms carry their own subscriptions. Always ask for the list of licences the site will require before you order.

Further development

A website that works will need new pages, campaigns and features. Ask what a change costs after launch — the answer tells you a lot about how the relationship will run.

Six questions to ask before you sign

Ask them of every supplier you are considering, including us. The answers make quotes comparable in a way the headline price never does.

  1. 1What is included, page by page — and what is explicitly not?
  2. 2What is the delivery window, and what happens if it slips?
  3. 3Who owns the code, design and content after final payment?
  4. 4What does a change cost after launch, and how fast is it done?
  5. 5Is the price fixed, or does it revert to hourly if the project runs long?
  6. 6What running costs will the site require in year one?

Common questions about website cost

What does a simple website cost?

+

A simple one- to four-page website typically lands between 5,000 and 15,000 kr. With us a focused landing page starts at 6,990 kr with a 4–6 business day delivery window, and a three- to four-page business website at 12,990 kr in 7–10 business days.

What does a business website cost?

+

A full business website with five to twelve pages, a CMS and tracking usually costs between 20,000 and 60,000 kr at a Swedish agency. Our equivalents are 22,990 kr for five to eight pages in 10–14 business days and 34,990 kr for eight to twelve pages in 15–20 business days.

Is a subscription cheaper than buying the website?

+

Per month, yes. In total, rarely. A subscription of around 1,000 kr per month comes to roughly 36,000 kr over three years, and the website still belongs to the supplier. A one-off price costs more in month one and nothing after that — and the site is yours.

How long does it take to build a website?

+

Expect 4–6 business days for a landing page, 7–14 business days for a business website, and 15–20 business days for a larger site with more pages and integrations. With us the delivery window is stated in every package before you order.

What does it cost to run a website per year?

+

Domain and hosting are recurring costs paid to those providers. On top of that comes maintenance if you want updates, security patches, backups and monitoring handled for you — our maintenance package is 4,990 kr per month. Handle it yourself and the cost is your own time.

Is SEO included in the price of a new website?

+

Baseline technical SEO is included in our web packages: page structure, titles and meta descriptions, fast load times and correct markup. Ongoing keyword work, content production and link building are separate services. Technical SEO and performance work on an existing site starts at 7,990 kr.

What does an online store cost?

+

A Shopify or WooCommerce store with up to 20 products, payments and shipping rules costs 14,990 kr with us, delivered in 7–10 business days. More products, custom features or integrations with business systems start at 24,990 kr.
