Websites for Cleaning Companies: RUT and Quote Requests

By CodexierPublished 6 min read

A private customer looking for a cleaning company has two questions that decide everything: what will it cost me after RUT, and can I trust these people in my home. A company site wins when it answers both without a phone call, then captures a quote request with the details you need to price it. This guide walks through the RUT explanation, transparent pricing, the quote form, trust signals and local search for a städfirma.

Explaining RUT to private customers

Most customers know RUT exists and few know how it works. Your job on the site is to make it concrete: the customer pays the reduced amount, you claim the rest from Skatteverket, and the deduction is capped per person per year. Say who is eligible in plain terms, that the deduction applies to labour and not to materials, and that the customer needs available deduction room. A short worked example with a typical hourly job does more than a link to Skatteverket.

Transparent pricing or price ranges

Cleaning is a comparison purchase, and the customer has three tabs open. A site with no prices is closed first. You do not need a full tariff; you need enough for the visitor to judge whether you are in their range and to feel that the quote will not surprise them.

ServiceWhat to showWhat drives the final price
Recurring home cleaningHourly rate after RUT and a typical time for common home sizesSize, frequency, pets, how furnished
Move-out cleaningA from-price per size band, with what is includedSize, condition, extras like balcony or oven
Window cleaningPrice per window or per home sizeNumber of windows, storeys, access

State both the price before and after RUT wherever it applies. Office cleaning is not RUT-eligible; say so, or business customers will ask.

Quote forms that capture the right details

A quote request you cannot price is a phone call you have to make, often to someone who has already booked elsewhere. The form should collect what your scheduler needs and nothing more. Split it by service so the questions fit, and confirm on screen what happens next and how fast.

  • Service type and frequency: one-off, weekly, every other week, monthly.
  • Home details: square metres, number of rooms and bathrooms, floor and lift, pets.
  • Address and postcode, which also tells you whether the job is inside your area.
  • Preferred days and times, and how soon they want to start.
  • Contact details and whether they want RUT applied, which changes what you need to invoice.
  • A promise on the confirmation screen: we reply within a stated time with a fixed price.

Trust: insurance, staff and reviews

Letting a stranger into your home is the real barrier, and it is why cleaning customers read the about page more than most. Address it directly rather than with a generic values statement.

Insurance and liability

Name your liability insurance and what happens if something breaks. One clear paragraph removes the question that stops many bookings.

Who comes to the home

Employed staff with collective agreement, background checks where you do them, the same cleaner each time, and how keys are handled. Photos of real staff, with their consent.

Reviews you can stand behind

Pull Google reviews onto the site with dates, and ask for a review after the third clean, not the first. Never write your own; the tone is recognisable and the marketing rules on misleading claims apply.

Company facts

Organisation number, F-tax, contact person and address. Fraudulent cleaning offers exist, and visible company details are how honest firms distinguish themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Should we show the price before or after RUT?

Both, side by side, with the after-RUT price emphasised since that is what the customer pays. Make it clear the deduction depends on the customer's own remaining allowance and applies to labour only, so nobody feels misled at invoice time.

Do we need online booking or is a quote form enough?

For recurring home cleaning a quote form is enough, because the first visit usually needs a conversation about the home. For fixed-price services such as window cleaning, a direct booking with a time slot removes a day of back and forth.

Can we use stock photos of clean homes?

You can, but they do not build trust because visitors recognise them. Photos of your actual staff, vehicles and completed work do the job, and a few honest before-and-after photos with the customer's permission are the strongest content a cleaning site can have.

How do we handle business customers on the same site?

Give them a separate page with their own form and pricing model, and state that RUT does not apply. Mixing the two audiences on one page confuses both.
